This web site was made entirely from recycled electrons.
An age old custom made even more
appealing in the 21st Century; your
favorite vacation spot, a soothing
vista in your home spa, a natural
feature in any room to make your
home  reflect your style.
Decorative Painting
Architectural detail, floral, and other
embellishments add dimension to any
wall finish making a statement like this
entry or something small  to draw
attention to a niche or window and door
frame.
A true trompe l'oeil  really does fools the
eye. This flat panel cabinet is painted to
look like inlaid Delft tile.  Trompe l'oeil
can change cast stone to marble,
plywood to walnut, even Sheetrock  to
stone. . .
The Powder Bath is the home's little  jewel
box. The one room where you can delight
your guests with a little over the top fun or
sophisticated elegance.
This unused basement became a
tasting room and functional wine
storage area. Perfect for that space
under the stairs, an extra pantry or an
unused closet for the connoisseur or
weekend collector.
Don't you wish you had one when you
were a kid?  The imagination is the only
limit. The best playrooms aren't childish,
they grow with the children.
Just out of the picture is the soaking tub in
this spa bath. Wall murals can transform any
space into an oasis, retreat, fantasy land, or
dream-scape.
Room with colorwash and
trompe l'oeil goes over
colorwash well
The Italian color wash is the basis for all
wall finishes. This finish looks like a natural
hand plastered wall that takes on the patina
of the well worn edges of time. The finish
can be as soft as a wisp of smoke or as
dramatic as a cloudy day.
Murals, faux finishes and other
painted elements can
transform an industrial space
into a comfortable working
environment.
Big Tex and the
State Fair of Texas
When Big Tex needs
a little work, the State
Fair of Texas calls on
Jer.  In 2008 Jer
painted a new belt,
real faux leather,  and
a new  buckle, real
faux silver.
The walls and ceiling in the
media room need the same
level of attention as the
equipment; theme, comfort,
excitement all designed to
create the ultimate experience.
A versatile faux finish that works
all over the house; the entry for
a Tuscan villa, the fireplace
becomes cut stone, plain
columns become marble.
This Fence defines a small
deck. Not only does it expand
the space it hides the railroad
tracks. Now if only it would
stop the noise.
Jer paints Big Tex - the icon of the State Fair of
Texas!
The State Fair of Texas commissions Jer when
Big Tex needs a make-over or gets a new sponsor
for his boots or his belt buckle. In 2002 Big Tex
turned 50 so it was time for a new look. Jer
undertook the job with care, repainting his face to
create a more human look for the Star of the Fair
adding a little gray to his hair and a few crows' feet
around his eyes. Jer took the opportunity at a later
date to articulate his hands, fingers and even
changed his hat from painted white fiberglass to a
very handsome 'sliver belly Stetson'.
